What's the best gift for someone who loves books and reading?

Each book lover is different. However, what draws us to the literary world is typically a love of words. Book Lovers are also imaginative and dreamers. We can be quirky and witty. We have a sense of humor and enjoy the small pleasures of life. Each product on our site is carefully chosen with the purpose of providing joy. A unique BOTM box, witty t-shirt, a lovely journal, a clever mug, or a cute pin is a thoughtful gift for anyone who enjoys reading. 

What is the Book of the Month service?

Each month, Tuma will choose 5-7 diverse and unique titles by writers of color. You choose your book and we pack it up nicely in a custom box with a few, fun gifts and surprises. There is no subscription, so you don't have to worry about skipping, canceling, or wasting unused credits. Orders are shipped every 2-3 business days. How long will it take for items to arrive?

It varies depending on the supplier. To provide our customers with a variety of great items for book lovers, we use both domestic and overseas suppliers. US suppliers can deliver in 3-7 business days, while international suppliers can take up to 30 business days. We will provide you with a tracking number. You can track your package from the link in your shipping confirmation email or by logging into your account. Read our full shipping policy to learn more.

Do you offer free shipping and returns?

Yes! I want to make shopping with me as easy and worry-free as possible. Shipping is free for orders over $50. While we hope you love all of our items, we are happy to send you a return label free of charge. See our full policy for more details. 

I've tracked my order, but it says, "Shipping label created, USPS awaiting item." What does this mean?

It can mean a few things. One, that I've prepared your box and purchased postage but haven't taken a trip to my local post office yet. I make trips every 2-3 days.

Or two, I've dropped off your package, but my local post office hasn't scanned it. Sometimes, when there are too many packages, 1-2 might not be scanned before being loaded onto delivery trucks. Typically, it may scan at a later delivery point in a few days or sometimes not until it's been delivered.

Or three, it's been lost in the mail. USPS is generally reliable (in terms of getting our mail to us...eventually) so this is often not the case. Packages are usually delayed and not lost. However, if you have not received your package within 12 business days, please email us at info@tumasbooksandthings.com and we will investigate. If needed, rest assured that you will receive an immediate refund if we find that the package has been likely lost in the mail.

I live outside of the US. Can I still shop?

Yes! Book Lovers are all over the world. International shipping is a flat rate of $29.99 to cover estimated shipping and custom fees. If the final fees are less than 29.99, you will receive a refund for the difference.

I entered the wrong shipping address. Can you help?

We can change the shipping address  as long as the order hasn't been shipped. We work fast to get your items to you quickly, so hurry! Send us an email as soon as you can at info@TumasBooksAndThings.com. Once the order has been shipping, it's unfortunately out of our hands. You can contact your local post office/delivery service for help.

Where's the rest of my order?!

Most of book gifts ship directly from the supplier. We offer items from a variety of vendors and so you will receive your order in separate packages. Just keep your eye on the tracking numbers, or reach out to us at anytime.

Can I add gift wrap or a gift note?

At the moment, we ship items directly from our suppliers and are unable to provide special gift notes or wrapping. However, you can send us a message to request a special shout-out on our Facebook or Instagram page. 

Are the used books in good condition?

The condition of our used books vary. Some books were purchased new and read once. Others were purchased used or read multiple times. All books were carefully shelved in a non-smoking environment. Please read the product description for specific titles to see clear images and the condition of the book. 

What if my items never arrive or arrive damaged?

We want our book lovers to be happy! So, we make returns super easy. If your items arrive damaged or never arrive based on tracking information (or it's been 60 business days), send us an email at info@TumasBooksAndThings.com or use the contact form and let us know. We will happily help you return the product to us and offer a refund. Read our full return/refund policy for more details.
